more Flooding pics

Thank you for all who prayed for our city!!! The flooding is much better now. Lots of people with flooded basements are now renovating. Nick helped our frinds (Widemans) with ripping carpet out. But we are still on boil water advisory :(
After I saw pictures of Minots flooding (280km from us) I am so grateful for our "little" flooding here!!! Here some pics from last week.

 This is normally just field...
Nicks company had lots of work, so they go by boat over "the field" :D

Crazy canadiens :D

JJ is already sooo big

JJ has so much grown the past time. He is getting so tall or his pants are getting short ;) He is also learning lots. Today he asked me how to write Martens and I spelled it for him and he wrote it... and not just wrote it, he wrote it upside down, because it was the way he wanted it :D With 3 years and 9 months!!!
He also endet his first year in Minigo/Preschool and he did a good job. Here two pics of the graduation celebration...
JJ with his teacher Corinne. She is sooo nice and he loves her so much!
Since Lukas is playing legos, JJ does too. Here he build a monster truck by himself :)
He also wanted to help with dishes ;) He was sooo careful with the dishes... a bit to careful, like he didn't want to scratch it :D

Bye bye pastor Stephen

On June 12th we had to say goodbye to our corean pastor Stephen and his family. They are moving to Trenton, Ontario. Pastor Stephen arrived there after 3 days driving, his family will follow when their house is sold. Pastor Stephen was a big friend of all kids in church. They love him and he had always something for them, candys, suckers, crackers...
Minok was teaching sundayschool and worked in Minigo, where JJ goes to. The first time JJ was only going to her, till he got used to the others and we will miss her very much too. The 3 boys are very nice and full of joy and liked our germen "Haribo"-candies and my cakes. So we gave them one of our precious Haribo-packages and a big cake ;)
We will miss them here and hope, that we can visit them and the Glawatzkis in Ontario someday...
The church is praying for them...
I choose this cake, because they bought this cake at the springsale in small and liked it so much ;)

Prayers for Weyburn

Please pray for Weyburn, the conditions are getting worse here. It's raining again and the water rises and rises. We still have a state of Emergency here. Many people have become not just rain water but sewage in the basements. We have a boil water advisory. Unfortunately JJ drunk the tabwater and had diarrhea, but now he is fine again. Now we use only sanizied or boiled water even for washing hands and making dishes. We don't do bathing and laundry. Otherwise we are good, but generally in the city, the mood is very depressed, many people have flooded basement, helping with sandbaging and all the farmers and oil field workers can not earn money. The expensive oil field trucks are used for pumping the water instead of oil. The Family Place has also caught worse thay have sewage in the basement and have closed now. The problem is that the Family Place runs completely on donations and have now a large hole is in the budget. I hope very much that enough donations will come in, that we will not lose the Family Place. We are very grateful that Nick can work despite the floods. Because they can no longer drive or go with the payloader to the company anymore, they go by boat now :D (pictures later)
It would be great if you could pray for our city. Many people here have lost a lot and there is currently no improvement in sight. For tonight and tomorrow is rain and thunder announced ... I am very grateful for the solidarity of people here and just know that God  is in control, even
in this situation.

busy week, flooding again

We had a very busy week. Last saturday weddingshower for a couple from church. I made the decoration and a cake for it (too bad I forgot my camera!!!) Sunday Goodbye Celebration for Pastor Stephan, I made a cake too. He is moving to Ontario, where is is going to me an army-pastor (capitain). We will miss him very much!!!
I have more pain in my neck lately, so I went to the chiropractor and after it I was exausted and had pain. JJ had his Minigo-graduation this week, more about it later...
On wednesday first time we got to see our blueprints we gave in work. We had some more changes to do and think about it a couple nights, but now all changes are done and we should get our final plans tommorrow :) We hoped to get it earlier and wanted to make the contract with the builder today, but it didn't work out. So we try to go to our invitations for today, 2 birthday parties and a BBQ. The basement from the first birthdaykid was flooded by the crazy rain we had yesterday, so they change it to an other place, the second birthday party was in Yellow Grass, but we couldn't get there because the closed roads... but we enjoyed the BBQ very much, while all things were crazy in the city. The floodings we had last time was lots, but this time is worse. We have a State of Emergency and a boil water advisory right now. Here are some pics, it is really crazy out here...
fontanes are coming out of the manwhole

We are really happy, that we had just a leaking window and hope it would stay dry the next days, better weeks...

Have a nice sunday,

Ribbon-toy

I saw this idea in some blogs and because Noah Jamie needs to work on his fine motor skills I sewed him this.
Here is lots to play with, pull, bite and so... Diego is connected with a Velcro strip, so he can play with it even when he is older... The blanket sizzles and tings too :)
The back with some buttons... to the brown elastic you can also connect a pacifier :) I just forgot to put it on a corner...
Now Noah jamie can work on his fine motor skills ;)
It is also perfect as a gift :)

Mashmallow Balls

Last week I tried the marshmallow balls first time. I loved to eat them at Albina's place :)
Marshmallow Balls:

10 caramel candy
1 / 2 tin sweetened condensed milk
1 / 2 cup butter or margarine

1 package marshmallows
Kellogg's Rice Krispies

1.The sweets melting slowly on medium heat, add the condensed milk and butter / margarine. Melt with constant stirring, until it is a smooth cream (do not boil).

2. the marshmallows just dip completely into the cream and immediately roll them in the crispies.
A little bit cooling down and hide from kids:)!

(By the way, the cream can be warmed again even after cooling and the finished Marshmallow Balls can be frozen.)
To bad they are all gone... I would love to take a biiiig bite!!! :)
